Incentive programs vary considerably from state to state. Find out more about programs in your area by visiting the Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy (DSIRE). In Arizona, rebates are administered through the Arizona Commerce. Depending on the size of your project, you will qualify for either an upfront rebate or a Performance Based Incentive (PBI). The upfront rebate is offered for systems less than 100 kW in size. The PBI is intended for larger systems and pays out based on energy production over the course of ten years. THE EMERGENCY ECONOMIC STABILIZATION ACT OF 2008

On October 3, 2008, President Bush signed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 into law. The new energy bill extends the 30-percent federal investment tax credit for both residential and commercial solar installations for 8 years (2009-2016). The legislation improves upon the previous investment tax credits by removing the $2,000 cap for residential solar PV systems and allowing Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) filers to take the tax credits.
